Salmon Celebration at the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival

This year, the Fraser valley Bald Eagle Festival is being held over 4 consecutive weekends starting in November. Weekend #2 from the 23 to 24 is hosted by the Sts’Ailes First Nation and focusses on the significance of the eagles and salmon from a unique cultural point of view.

Saturday November 23

Site Activities:

  • Artisan Demonstrations + Sales: 9:30am-3:00pm
  • Land based Eagle Viewing: 9:30am-3:00pm
  • Sasquatch Tours Dancers: 11:30am

Official Welcome + Talk:

  • 11:00am (significance of Eagle + Salmon from a Sts’ailes point of view)

Speaker’s Presentation:

  • 1:30pm-2:00pm (Harrison Salmon Stronghold)
  • Dave Moore + Kim Charlie- “Salmon of the Shuqwéma (Harrison River) – A Salmon Stronghold”. The presentation will introduce the audience to the wondrous diversity in Harrison River Salmon, and describe the significance of salmon as a keystone species. The audience will also be introduced to the Harrison Salmon Stronghold and the strategic plan. Copies of the plan and pamphlets will also be available to the public.

  • 12:00-1:30pm
