Klahowya Village in Stanley Park

Festival

The Klahowya Village in Stanley Park is a summer long festival celebrating BC's First Nations and Métis cultures. In addition to the daily attractions and weekend performances there are special event weekends. These "Nation Days" celebrate the historical connection of the three host First Nations whose traditional territory includes Stanley Park: Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh. As well, Métis Days will feature a weeked highlighting Métis culture in British Columbia.

Spirit Catcher MIniature Train

Ride through Stanley Park's lush forest as you watch Aboriginal performers act out the story of the "Legend of the Spirit Bear". Tickets for the 15 minute journey are $5 (children under 2 are free).

Artisan Marketplace

Shop the Artisan Marketplace for First Nations and Métis art, jewellery and more! Four renowned First Nations artisans are onsite all summer selling beautiful Aboriginal arts and crafts. There is also a 30 minute craft workshop making cedar bracelets with traditional knowledge sharing about the cedar tree. Each weekend there is also an artisan demonstration.

Cultural Performances

Watch live cultural performances on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday and holiday Monday throughout the summer. First Nations and Métis dancers in traditional regalia perform the songs and dances passed down to them over generations from their ancestors.
