The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, in Whistler, showcases the art and heritage of the Squamish and Lil’wat aboriginal people. The Centre features a museum, modern gallery, craft activities, gift shop, café, and theatre.

The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is an authentic cultural activity for the whole family. The range of experiences available to guests include guided tours of the museum and exhibits, singing and drumming performances, multimedia presentations, craft workshops and indigenous cuisine.

This is the only Centre in the world that has purposefully been designed to demonstrate how two distinct First Nations can share territory, knowledge, and cultural practices in a way that acknowledges the uniqueness of each.  This is reflected not only in the architectural design, but also in the way exhibits, activities, and programming is offered. The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is located on the shared traditional territories of the Squamish and Lil’wat First Nations in Whistler, BC.


Cultural Centre & Museum

The range of experiences available to guests include guided tours of the museum and exhibits, singing and drumming performances, multimedia presentations, craft workshops and indigenous cuisine. The Center features a “Class A” museum, contemporary gallery, interactive and outdoor exhibits, gift shop, café, forest walk and theatre (featuring a spectacular 15-minute film). Average time it takes to experirence the Facility 1.5 hours.

Art Gallery & Gift Shop

The gallery showcases the unique styles of Squamish and Lil’wat and other BC First Nations artists. Take home a piece of BC aboriginal culture, including Squamish and Lil’wat artwork ranging from the well known to new up and coming artists. Purchase original artwork, exquisite jewelry, hand-carved artworks, ceremonial masks, cedar baskets, wool weavings, moccasins, limited-edition prints and more.

Cafe

Visit our Ambassadors Café and try our indigenous inspired traditional lunch fares. Indulge in the salmon, berries and breads discussed on the tours. The Café specializes in family friendly affordable lunches. From salmon chowder to turkey clubs there is something for everyone.

Cultural Workshop

Admission to Whistler’s Award Winning Aboriginal Museum includes a cedar bracelet craft workshop.
