Leaving Calgary, travel by car west on the Trans-Canada Highway towards Banff and then south-west to Radium Hot Springs.

From here, travel along the Settler’s Road into 100 acres of secluded pine trees nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains on the edge of Kootenay National Park. Here you will find the CrossRiver Wilderness Centre, which has mountain accommodations (in teepees and heritage cabins), hiking, backpacking, rafting, and canoeing adventures.

South of the CrossRiver Wilderness Centre is Invermere, is a panoramic mountain village known for its hot springs. There are also scenic beaches, golf courses and skiing. The Lakeshore Resort and Campground is located on the shores of Windermere Lake south of Invermere. The Lakeshore offers a campground, cabins, and eco and cultural tours, which include walks to the historic Aboriginal sites of the Ktunaxa people.

From Invermere head north on Highway 95 to the town of Golden, which has three mountain ranges for skiing and snowboarding as well as wildlife watching, canoeing, biking and rafting.

Head north to Highway 1 and continue along the highway towards Kamloops. On the way, stop in Chase and visit the Quaaout Lodge and Talking Rock Golf Course and play a round.

Kamloops is at the joining of the South and North Thompson rivers. It is a major golf destination with more than a dozen courses. Visit the Secwepemc Museum and Heritage Park and experience the rich cultural history of the Secwepemc People. Cultural displays extend into a 5-hectare Heritage Park located on the banks of the South Thompson River.

Continue west along Highway 1. From Hope, travel southwest via Highway #7 to Agassiz and visit the Sasquatch Crossing Eco Lodge in the Sts’ailes Territory. Originally built in 1903, the B&B features nine unique guest rooms, a library, living room with a fireplace, dining room and more. Relax at the B&B or visit the nearby town of Harrison Hot Springs.

Drive south until reaching Highway 1 and drive west through to Chilliwack for freshwater fishing, river rafting and hiking. Cultus Lake Provincial Park is a popular spot for swimming and camping.

A little over an hour west along Highway 1 is Vancouver, a world-class port city with shopping and nightlife. Vancouver has three host nations: Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh. The Musqueam Cultural Education Resource Centre and Gallery features exhibitions highlighting historic cultural objects, contemporary arts, and the sharing of Musqueam culture. Salmon n’ Bannock Bistro offers organic meats, wild local fish, homemade bannock and other exciting menu items inspired by a variety of First nations culinary traditions.
