Take in the incredible Coast Mountains on a road trip to Lillooet

The town of Lillooet, home to the St’át’imc First Nations, is set against the stunning backdrop of the coast mountains, with terrain that is great for a variety of activities including hiking, fishing, mountain biking and canoeing.

If leaving from Vancouver, rent a car or RV and travel north along Highway 99. On the way to Whistler, stop at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre which features guided tours, singing and drumming performances, multimedia presentations, craft workshops and indigenous cuisine.

Continue north to Whistler, famous for its world class skiing and snowboarding. Whistler Village, found at the base of Whistler’s two mountains, has many unique shops and restaurants. Activities available are hiking, bear-viewing, biking, sightseeing via the PEAK 2 PEAK gondola, canoeing, shopping and more.

Continue north along Highway 99 to Lillooet, a town nestled inside the Coast Mountains that overlooks the Fraser River. Take an excursion with Xwisten Experience Tours and visit the traditional fishing grounds of the St’át’imc people. Boston Bar is an hour-and-a-half drive from Lillooet along Highway 12 and the Trans Canada Highway. Located in the rugged Fraser Canyon, Boston Bar is a former gold rush town steeped with history. Visit the Tuckkwiowhum Interpretive Village, a First Nations heritage site located in the heart of Nlaka’pamux territory. The village includes summer lodges, a smoke house, a sweat lodge, earth ovens and an awe-inspiring pit house.
