You are invited on a First Nations eco-cultural experience to our home at Moyehai (Ahousat) to live ancient times. Experience First Nations culture, exchange stories, gather seafoods and explore for spiritual connections.

Join Spirit Eagle Experiences for a guided experience that will last for a lifetime. Immerse yourself in First Nations culture, their home and their daily lives. Exchange stories and enjoy traditional Aboriginal foods, talk with elders, artists and singers. Gather seafood, harvest chiton from the reefs and fish for the tyee. Explore the Ahousaht Hahoolthee for spiritual connections, eagles, whales and other local happenings.

Spirit Eagle Experience are real. They are rooted in the Frank, Atleo and Sam families. The name Spirit Eagle is a significant symbol as the spirit carrier, the eagle (siiqwaatiin) empowers us with strenghth, wisdom and ability to succeed to heights unknown. You are invited to ask about the Ahousaht and local nautical history… 155 years in the making. They look forward to sharing experiences, culture, foods and stories that will live on for years…

Artists' Studios

Exchange stories and enjoy talks with local First Nations artists and elders. Guests will visit with artists and elders while engaging in the work of the day: carving a totem pole, painting a killer whale, hanging smoked fish or talking about the ceremonies connected to each artistic creation. Guests will be invited to purchase gifts directly from the artist or place custom orders.

Boating

Enjoy the MV Eagle Spirit, a 24’ Striper built for the seas of the west coast. Watch for eagles, whales, bears and other local wildlife as you head to Ahousaht. Fish for the tyee while aboard. Harvest chiton from the ocean reefs... the way Ahousahts have done for 1000s of years- step off the canoe, step onto the reef, look around you - nothing but ocean. Paddle your way to their home on the west coast of Vancouver Island: Ahousat, BC. The Aborginal First Nations traditional territory of the Ahousaht includes Tofino, BC; Clayoqout Sound, a Unesco Biosphere; and north to Hot Springs Cove, BC.
